Going through all the brakes because I got the wheels off for new tires. Got the one independent front brake caliper done with new rubbers and pads. Moved over to the linked caliper, got it off, cleaned up, and was trying to put the new seals in it, then noticed the holes looked smaller. Took a piston and eyeballed it next to the one I just did and yup, this one is much smaller.

Questions:

1. What part #'s do I need for this caliper? I didn't see an option when I ordered so I got 2 the same same. Looking for seals, boots, pads, pad spring.

2. What part #'s will I need for the rear one?

3. Front master cylinder kit. I have Honda part # 45530-NA4-671. Can you tell me if this is gonna be right?

4. I hope it's gonna take all the same pads?

I had no idea the front would have two different size calipers. I guess I can understand why, just never saw this before. Shot my weekend in the ass. :head bang: :head bang: :head bang:

I went to the Honda dealer for mine cause I couldn't find two numbers in the breakout. I already knew they were different sizes. On my receipt they wrote:
2 MA7 Dust Seals
2 GE2 Dust Seals
2 MA7 Seals
2 GE2 Seals

Total cost $40.56

I don't know if this helps or not but I had both sizes of pistons with me and it still took them the better part of a half an hour to figure it out.
I didn't get the ones for the back caliper and now I wonder which size they are.

All the brake shoes are the same...

Those ain't complete part #'s, but I reckon the GE2's are what I need. Thanks.

I know this subject has been a confusion on the linked brakes.

Ron, when you find the complete Honda part number please post it in this thread then I'll copy it over to the brakes section.

Found the part#, but it can't be ordered on the weekend and they're closed Monday, so it won't even be ordered till Tues. or Wed.

thewhiterhino's numbers helped (if I get what I think I ordered) me explain what I needed. I went to 3 places and had to explain my situation 3 times. Only one place could elaborate showing part #'s. No measurements or anything like that. The "GE2" was what I didn't have, so that's what we ordered. According to all we could figure out, the rear will take the "MA7" #.

Next week when I know for sure it's right I'll supply numbers with descriptions.

Igot my rebuild kits from partsnmore.com had the right size seal in the kits for the 83 part number 29-0009 cost $35 which gets you shipping for $5.00 been in for 4 years no problems at all with anything ive got from them .

Well, today I picked up my order for the right side caliper seals. There were 2 piston seals in the bag. PN# 45209-GE2-006. No dust seals. And nobody there today who can take my order. So...here I sit, drinking beer and looking at my motorcycle, saying "vroom-vroom".

I guess I'll get my mess cleaned up and start creating a new mess with the timing belts. I'm gonna drain the coolant and the oil&filter.
