When I got my wrecked '81 a few years back, it came with a lot of chrome goodies. Some I like...most I didn't, but I kept the chrome aftermarket valve covers. Well, last night I went to adjust my valves and had to pull the covers. They were starting to weep just a bit so I had ordered OEM Honda valve cover gaskets. Adjusted valves, swapped gaskets and no matter what I tried, they would not fit!! (Too big!)

After trying every trick I knew, I decided to pull the beat up old OEM valve covers from my original blown '82 engine and...what do you know.......the OEM gaskets fit in them like a charm!! I put the valve covers end for end to check them and ....lo...and behold.....they are different! Soooooo......I suppose if you have these aftermarket valve covers, you have to get replacement gasket from them! (Live and learn!)
