air bag bobber

Does anyone recall anybody cuttin off the back shox and putting an airbag system on one of the GL1100's. any pictures. I have obtained a prioject that'll look pretty cool if i get it finished.

Are you hoping to use a mono shock style install with an air bag in place of the shock?

Yes, mount the bag in front of the tire with a brace under the seat to pick up the top of it. fuel tank will be in a "normal" position above the engine and airbox

hmmmmm dont know about air bag ....but with tank gone olwings have lots of room to work with ...so it sure can be done

I would look at the mono shock set up similar to my CBR as you get both dampening and ride hight support.

Thats my OTHER alternative. Cafe tank, R6 shock and clip-ons instead. The possibilities are endless!!!!

You must be more physically fit than I am.If this build goes the way it sounds to me I couldn't ride it.

not so... i have a (basically) stock 1983. this is just for fun. sort of a GL powered CBR F2 or close. typical of most posers, it more about looks than speed. if i go the other way and doo the bagger i'll have to grow more haior so i can look like the dudes on Sons of Anarchy....without the Harleys
