howdy, i recently picked up a 81 interstate, as it did not come with an air compressor installed, i decided to try to retrofit a system from an 83. i'm going to mount controls in fairing. problem i have is getting a hose long enough to reach rear suspension. i would like to use a compression tube & fitting arrangement. i don't know the size or type of connection, i think it is an inverted metric flare fitting but am not sure. anybody out there have a clue? thanks in advance for any advice. thanks

Schrader valve ties the two rear shocks together under the right side cover. You can run hard plastic airlines to that valve and add a fitting that will screw into the schrader valve.
