Amazing growth of CGW

In March of 2012 I joined this site and there were a little over a hundred members posted on the member map and my member # is 1281. During the past 14 months the member map has grown to include 563 members and there have been 1582 new members added to the roll book.

Those figures just go to show what a great site this is and how dedicated the members, moderators and the owner of this site are in providing a quality site dedicated to the oldwings. It's an amazing family and I just wanted to say thanks to all for all the hard work in keeping the site on the forefront, and for all I have received from it.

look again - pretty sure your member number 1984 (not to worry that was a good year) Joe on the other hand, his member number is also his age 47 and holding !!!

But I have to agree -- Hats off to Dan and the guys !!

The member numbers are messed up actually.
The actual number is only close to accurate.

A few months after restoring the forum I went through an deleted MANY thousands of bogus/spam accounts so we'd have an accurate real live member count, not an inflated number with thousands of inactive zero posters that doesn't mean anything.
Those delete's messed up the database number tracking.

As it is we have 1,652 ACTIVE members.
A differential in that count seen in different parts of the forum is because there are 51 bots which are not shown.
Bots are the search engines.

I think we have a very good group of level headed members not swayed by popular "belief" of how things are done, rather most of us need to prove it for ourselves.
That is precisely what I was after.

I think this is the fact that makes this a better forum when dealing with the old wings. The info provided is a lot more accurate and helpful. Some of the other forums you will receive 4 or 5 different opinions, and usually only one is correct.
