Funny ..Out of all the gauges I thought the thermometer was foolproof, such a simple device. It is stuck on 40 degrees and checking it it doesn't move a single millimeter.
I gave it a slight warm up with glancing flame from the zippo, not much but the bulb was warm to the touch and still nothing. I`m considering Ice cubes.
The bike hasn't been messed with and only 11K miles, factory installed so it is as it was, when installed, just sat for 23 years, bulb and tube seems untouched and intact.
Any idea`s? Not sure if these can be serviced or if the cost would be more then it would to buy a used one. Also thinking of those little 2 inch digital ones on ebay but then I would have a square digital gauge surrounded by round ones..That would drive me and the other gauges crazy...LOL.
Thanks for any help.

Probably right, If it is I think I`ll gut it and install the digital from the back side of the gauge, that way they all stay round in front, still wondering if I can find A VDO, Stewart Warner or something to fit the hole rather then have the odd looking display.
