ok got the faux tank all painted and all scratched up already.

Can anyone post a picture of how the springs are arranged on the underneath side of the false tank??

Someone told me to take pics but NOOO i could get it back together. Well I CAN'T

hey thanx for the pics. the springs look a lil different than my set for the 85 but at least I can do some more experimenting. After that just have to figure out how to get a pic o my scooter on my profile.
 
There should be little rubber insulators on the straight ends of the springs, for smooth operation I suppose. I used small vacuum hose to make mine. For what it's worth...
 
Very grateful for these photos. Thank you! And I have (so far) been unsuccessful in installing the bolt-spring assembly. I have not found a way to hold the pieces in place and secure the bolts at the same time! It seems to be particularly difficult since the cover must be half-closed to be in positon. Do I need to drill out the riviets that hold both halves of the false tank? Any tips that you may have on how it is done would be gratefully appreciated.
