Were any of the 81 model GL1100s equipped with the "linked" brake system? I'm looking at another 1100 to purchase and I would rather not have the linked brakes.

No, the linked brakes didn't come in until 1983.

That was my opinion about linked brakes, until I put myself into a situation where I really needed them and that one time changed my mind.
