I have seen the threads on using white vinegar to clean electrical connections, and I have read that apple cider vinegar cleans rust. Thought I would give it a try! My gas cap was real rusty and corroded from age (no kidding...it's only 32 years old!)

Popped it off and dropped it in a coffee mug filled with apple cider vinegar (kinda stinky) and let it sit for a day. WHOA!! That stuff really works!!

The guy that invented the vapor Rust just lives about 2 miles from me, told him about the apple cider.... :hihihi:
Shake his hand for me - his stuff is awesome! Not cheap, but it lasts a long time, and still amazes me!
