Dan/Joe or Paul:

Would there be any fitment issues (coils mostly) using a 1000 kit on an 1100 with the 1000 cams in it?

Just planning ahead for the annual winter tear-down.........

:thanks:

Coil pack no problem.
Just need the 1100 mounting brackets.

The ignition housing for 1000 is a bit different against the 1100 head. 1100 machining is rounded whereas the 1000 is squared.
I'm not sure this is a problem but it may change the spacers needed?

no its not and problem with to put c5 for 1000 on 1100 heads ...hooch has 1100 heads ....the difference in the head machining affects nothing on the spacers of the c5 ...the c5 housing is made to fit the flat outside portion of both heads ....

Ok perfect.
So it's a bolt and go deal.

The 1000 frame holds the quad coil vertical, and the 1100 frame holds the coils horizontal. We mount the new coil in the same arrangement as Honda did.

On the 1100 frame there is actually more room, and I feel it's slightly easier. If that's the route you decide to go, just let me know and we'll include the 1100 mounts, as Dan stated. We have installation guides for both cycles on our website so you can use both of them to as visual reference. The actual coil is identical.

As for how the 1000 housing fits the 1100 heads, Joe is the guy with all the answers. It takes 10 minutes to install the GL1000 kit....VERY easy to do.
You also get to show off that shiny billet housing to your biker buddies.

Joe, I thought you had to do some work to the 1100 head to use the 1000 cams. A little custom grinding. Maybe that was to use points or Dyna???

its the stock housing that that dosnt fit good ...but it will work ...I did have one I moded to 1200 head ...but have never used it ...as I just don't like 1200 heads ...over built ... and the only oldwing heads ive ever seen crack ....to me it dosnt get any better than single cam and adjustable rockers..... in user friendly setup
