candy muse red paint for a 1981 GL1100 goldwing

Any one know a good paint source for candy muse red
took it to the parts house to do a computer match thay
come up with no match need to paint front fender
gave them oem and ppg paint number thay are no good

Reds fade with time and are near impossible to match. Better to find something close and repaint all of it.

Ditto on trying to color match Red, if it has faded at all will be very hard to color match.

i just had some parts on my '93 repainted and got the paint from https://www.colorrite.com but looking on their website '86 is as early a paint as they carry. thats a bummer cause i wanted some paint for my '84 too

I must also point out that 30 years ago colors varied noticeably from batch to batch of the same color. So close is as good as it gets.

If you know the color code colorite carry earlier than 86. They have the paint for my 83. You just have to know the color code

Hi Wizard,

If that's the dark, sort of burgandy red color as mine is, I found that Dupli-Color Director Red Metallic (PR8, MR8) is very very very close. I think it's a tad more metallic than stock, but it's pretty tough to tell the difference. Of course, I'm just using a small rattle can for touch ups.
