do you all know any active cb100 forum? the pillion passenger wants to learn to ride. so the 1971 honda cb100 come out from hibernation for 2 years period. it had always problems with intermittently not running at all.. otherwise would run fine.

there is a decent looking spark come from the sparkplug. I cleaned the carb and seated the jets to the bottom as they were when I found them and then the air and fuel adjustment screws were gently turned to the bottom and backed off two full rotations. I cleaned all the electrical connections and placed a new battery. filled some gas in the carb and kicked but got nothing. any suggestion to what should I try next?

Pull the fuel line off the carb and check for flow. Check the air filter. Those little motors can be a real pain to get going some times. I have a cb200t.

I didn't have the fuel tank on, the petcock denies gas flow... this bike was stored improperly. I was trying to clear it and broke off the straw. Even with the straw broken off I still can't figure out how to clear it.

I had just filled the carb with fuel and I didn't have the air filter attached either I was just trying to see it run. I guess it might be better to have the fuel hooked up but I had figured it would run for several seconds with just the carb filled.

That little motor should run a minute or two on a bowl of fuel. Are you sure you have good spark?

They won't run properly without a restriction/ air filter. My CBRs will only pull 5k with the filter off, I have some pod filters that help for tuning without the air box installed.

Yep , Starting Fluid will start Anything with a Spark . on like on a Diesel , all it needs is Compression and Air. some people used to think you should never use it on a Diesel , i bet between the Air Intake , and Inflating Tires ... I must have used a Train Car Load of it. :smilie_happy:
