Checking oil,gl1100

How does one check the oil,there doesnt appear to be a dipstick?

Sight glass under the right head. Check it with the bike level on the center stand.

There's a slotted pin in the center of the sight glass. Turn it with a screwdriver to wipe the inside of the glass.

It's almost hidden by the frame and brake pedal, near the bottom of the engine. '80-'82 are oval-shaped, '83 is round.

Groovy,thanks and btw,my 80 interstate has a dipstick that sticks up in front of the radiator,is that stock honda or an aftermarket part?

Aftermarket. I had one on my '75 1000, not sure how accurate they are, but they're convenient. I put a pic of the sight glass in my last post...
