I just noticed that my clutch handle assembly has two wires connected to it. I hadn't noticed them before. Can anyone tell me what they do? I assume they are connected to some sort of switch which changes state when the clutch lever is actuated? Is it to disable the starter if the bike is started in gear? If it is mine is not working,,, ask me how I know. Thanks.

Switch in the clutch perch is supposed to disengage the start circuit if the bike is not in neutral unless the clutch lever is pulled. If yours will start in gear without pulling in the clutch then the switch at the clutch perch is broken or bypassed (most likely) or some other portion of the circuit has been bypassed .
