I have a 1978 GL1000 with 75,000 miles... problem I'm having is a clutch noise at idle. When I pull the clutch in the noise goes away. The previous owner says the clutch was replaced just prior to me buying the bike. Do you think this is an adjustment problem? or what do I need to look at?

That's pretty normal noise. My 83 1100 does the same thing.
It's the primary chain and in most cases nothing to worry about but a good even running engine as in carbs balanced well and in good tune helps to quiet it as much as it can get.

Welcome from Southern California! Do you have to pull the clutch in all the way for the noise to stop, or can you just put a little pressure on the lever to quiet it?
