My 83 Aspencade will shudder if I am to quick to let the clutch out under load. It's always done it if I am not paying attention. And being too much of a hotdog. You'll probably will be fine.

Thanks.
I hope so.

Heh love the paint job :music: :music:   Could you post a bigger pic of your avatar. Thanks

Actually it's not a paint but electrical tape job.

with the tenitcy to leak gas in the crankcase like the wings can do ....i choose diesel oil as it can take this better than anything else ...and it stays on engine parts longer when sitting ....so i think better for start ups to....thats my thinking gerry :headscratch:

Update:

Just changed the oil and filter. Rotella T 15w40 went in. There was a spring missing in the filter housing. Put in makeshift one made out of soldering iron stand. Genuine spring is on order. Now the PO is officially promoted to DPO.

Hard to wait to check the clutch feel. (It rained yesterday so I didn't ride.)

I had a similar problem a few years ago, turn out to be the dampener disc in the clutch pack had let a couple brass rivets go,it eventually wedge in the engaged mode.

That's not good..
It's a big deal to look at the clutch on GLs, right?
Nawwww, just have to pull the engine! My girls can have the engine out and on the ground in two hours!

The engine did not need to come out.I also did not have to remove the rear tire.Just needed an odd combination of wobbles and extensions for that one bolt hidden behind a couple brakelines. :head bang:
All and all it went pretty well, and I replaced all the friction disc while I was in there so I would feel a little better about the whole thing.
The clucth is quite as a mouse now.

Good to know!
Now only if I can find a time and motivation to do it.
There is no riding off-season in SoCal and that's a bad thing in this case.
