I am keeping an eye out for a low mileage GL1100I. I have not found many but have seen a few standards with pretty low mileage-some with the vetter package.

How easy is it to convert a standard to a interstate? e.g. putting the fairing/saddlebags from my interstate on a standard. Are all the mounting points already on the standard frame for the fairing, lower, and saddlebags? What about the wiring- is it just a plug in affair or would there need to be some work done?

evertthing is bolt on but there is a piece of wireing pigtalel that has to be had or wire up yourself to work ...id say buying all the bags and fairing trunk and all is big hill ...if low mile standard is around to get at good deal I wouldn't pass on that at all everything is nothing if the bike is not up to par

What Joe said,

main thing is a good bike, good engine, good shifting trans, good bones everything else can be done

If you bought a standard, you would need the bracketry, as well as the item to be mounted.

Saddle bag tubular mounting bracket & saddle bags
trunk rack bracket and trunk

and there may be a couple of other brackets I left out

fairing
fairing weight

I may convert my naked 83' back to a fairing, & saddle bag bike,

after a repaint
