Last evening the wife and I decided to take a cruise on the landlords 82 wing (They have given us the opportunity to ride it when ever we want to keep it in good running condition as they have little time for it.) We were just putting around the back country roads for around an hour enjoying the nice cool weather. Just after sunset we were coming around a moderate curve and the headlight shined on a deer standing along side the road, I said to my wife look a deer, we both like seeing deer, well this deer obviously didn't like the headlight shining on it and it took off right toward us. I hit the brakes and we were going about 10 - 15 mph when the deer's head hit me right in the left leg above my ankle the momentum of the bike turned the deer broadside of us as it brushed heavily along side the bike and both of our legs. Luckily we didn't go down, the weight of the wing was enough to move the deer. I yelled back at my wife asking if she was ok and she was kinda laughing in disbelief that a deer just ran into us. She was ok, the deer's body only rubbed against her leg. I saw the deer roll over on the road in the mirror and then it was gone. I brought the bike to a stop to see if there was any damage to it, and I have to say these bikes are tough, the deer slide across the entire side of this bike and not a scratch on it. I thought for sure the saddle bag would have been busted up but nothing not even a hair. I realize we got very lucky as this could have gone very badly for us. (THANK YOU LORD). After that we decided to head home. So if your out cruising the back roads this time of year watch for them deer. Especially in Pa.
