Does anyone have the flange dimensions of a solex 34pict3? Weber 2 barrel used on GWs?

i got that stuff right here ..but i dont have dimensions ....i like the manifold shape ...but would suggest the transition piece from i to 2 barrel carb and go with the weber dft carb

You might want to fit the barrel to one barrel adapter. Center opening is 1 1/4 " Bolt holes are approximately 2 1/8 " apart center to center. Those are the measurements off the carb mount on my VW type 1 manifold for a single barrel carb.

The idea is to have one that can be cut to fit several different carbs. I need the mounting flange dimensions for all the commonly used ones so I can make sure it can fit them all.

My design has nearly equal length tubes and the openings are exactly the same distance AND pointed straight at the center of the carb.

Well the single barrel dimensions I posted will allow most of the small single barrel carbs. The adapter should fit most of the common two barrels.

Very good. The plenum will have to be a good bit wider for the weber. I wanted one that would fit weber and solex but they are too far different. Unless it's mounted at 90*... I'm sure I saw somebody turned the weber 90 for more room.

I don't see any problem turning it 90 except that it would put the primary feed at a different point in relation to the runners.
Going this far, I think it's worth it to use the 2 to 1 adaptor to run a 2 barrel. That keeps the charge centered no matter the carb position.

Good thinking.

It could be made a bit better looking but I'm going for ease of manufacture to keep the cost as low as I can. The plenum is a welded sheetmetal box with a 1/4" plate welded on top. I might give that plate a large opening and studs, then an adapter plate to bolt to the carb. Then you can just drop it in over the studs, put on nuts and go. I means an extra gasket between the plate and adapter but I think the adaptability and ease to put together is worth it. That would put nuts inside the plenum if I understand the Solex's mount so I'd have to drop in a screen to make sure a loose nut doesn't get sucked into the engine. That's just a good idea anyway and costs almost nothing.

Wouldn't that restrict flow? It would also make it sit higher and there's not much room.

Here's my current version. I like it a lot. The runners are as close to the same length as I can get them (<1/8" difference), equal distance from the carb, and pointed straight at it.

I think it needs a couple of braces to strengthen the runners so they don't get bent while installing.
Who wants one? I could get an extra made.... If it works well I might sell them.
