So done a search on here for final drive, dif and a few others. So I want to get the final drive casing PC'd but I have been told I would need to strip the assembly as the heat will destroy the seals etc. So has anyone ever torn the guts out of the dif. What problems need to be overcome in doing this, special tools? Any pit falls, and should I do this. I don't worry about stripping the engine/gearbox, done that got the T shirt, but the DIF, now that is another story.

So I would like some critique and the challenges of doing this. I have a Haynes but it is a bit iffy, well none existent. 1 reference on page 133, that says nothing.

Any help greatly appreciated.

If memory serves I think another tried this. I think there was a problem in getting it completely stripped and a seal that didn't come out. Maybe a good cleaning and epoxy paint?
