Is there a difference between a standard GL1100 front brake pads and and interstate? I'm looking to buy some new pads, mine are pretty warn out and i DONT want to pay the honda shop their price when i can get the exact same thing on ebay for a fraction of the cost.

So is there a difference between the 3 models brake pads? or are they interchangeable like a lot of other things?

Is there any difference between front pads and rear pads? they look the same to me.

The primary issue is the year of the bike. '83 has duel piston calipers so they are not compatible with the '80-'81 pads. Be sure to order pads specific to your year. I use kevlar pads and I am real happy with their performance!

I always make sure i get the right year for Bear. i found some Front & Rear Carbon Kevlar Brake Pads for 1983 Honda GL 1100 Goldwing Interstate on ebay for $26.50 where as the honda shop, just for the front wants $85 plus tax, and $42.50 plus tax for the rear. just for parts thats well over $100, and i dont like those prices if its the exact same thing.

+1 on the Kevlar and check your calipers and you will see the differences between single and dual piston

I havent taken apart the caliper before, is it single or dual?

there are 3 diff pad thicknesses (braking material) to chose from on the dual piston setup

though i think they all work

better (or cheaper) to use up pads and replace those, rather than pads that bite hard and wear away the disc faster

Buck post a picture of the front caliper so that we can be sure. I can't tell from your album picture 100% that they are dual piston.

I bought those for the Enterprise 3 weeks ago. They deliver in a quick way to Orlando, FL. The pads works OK, but lately I'm hearing a little squeal, mainly when the brakes are cold or when I press too soft or gentle the foot brake. Other than that, they stops OK.

well, thats what you need then, yeah, quiet brakes are nice, but as long as they work good that is the biggest point.
