Ed Surman Aventure rider sighting

Was out walking the dog and going through Berts cycle parking lot and noticed a packed down Austrailian tagged bike in the lot, Turns out to be Ed Surman here touring the US, Heading off to Alaska but is stuck here in Ca. enjoyng the weather.

Who is Ed Sureman?

Touring the US on a dual sport he had shipped here. The link has his ride report from adventure riders forum. someone may be following his blog so I just posted it here, not everyday you meet up with these iron butt riders...Off to Alaska next.

Yep, he seems to be having a good time, I admire riders such as yourself and him that take off to another country and ride the bejezzus out of their bikes..Me I would be worried about breaking down, getting hit or some other calamity. Of course I worry about that every time I ride but at least I am towing miles from my home and my hospital and family are here.
I do see the advantage of a dual sport for touring, A guy could carry a complete rebuild kit with him and probably rebuild it on the side of the road.
