i was reading about the fairing repairs and am curious up here in canada i cant find the black abs cement all i can find is the yellow the only difference i can see is the black is medium and the yellow is regular now my question will this work on my fairings this forum is great there is more info at your fingertips then one could imagine ride safe thx

Any ABS cement should work. I cannot say it will for certain but they should all be formulated to chemically weld ABS.

If it causes the ABS to kind of fer soft or melt it should work never seen yellow before aoo our DWV pipes are black, yellow would be interesting yellow here usually means Gas pipe and i don't mean sewer gas black and yellow will make an interesting looking repair thouth

Wonder what it would cost to buy direct from a distributor here? Or maybe one of us could send it to you. I don't like the idea of you using something that might not work. Really all it is is acetone with ABS plastic in it.

One thing is for sure, it's not a tough job. My desert weathered fairing responded well to repairs.

Yellow works fine, just leaves a yellow film
Make your own with black abs plumbing pipe and acetone. My only learn-by-mistake was, don't put it on too thick.

I used the white/clear and dissolved some shavings in it.... just to see what is was all about before applying and you can thin the mix with acetone... it is a bit messy... but it works great...
I patched holes and used fiberglass screen for big spots.

Another word of caution if you don't know, acetone is nasty stuff to your skin and goes right in to the bloodstream and works your liver hard. It eats most gloves, but wear the gloves and try to be neat. I put mine in a ketchup squeeze bottle with a small hole in the top to pinpoint it and get it to come out where I wanted it. It can come out kind of runny, but it skins over fast and stays where you put it if you don't try to put too much at a time.
