It's Father's Day, right, the time we celebrate the first breath of a newborn. Well, that's what I celebrated, the breath of a new born. I have been working eight months or so on this motor and have never undertaken anything like this. I pulled a few things which I was... And still am... Afraid might not work out, but today I got to hit the start button and hear my baby take its first breath. Anyways, it was awesome to here it fire up and run, but watch the chicken shirt operator jump as it breathes to life. Texas chilli trousers.

I gotta admit the off idle response is unbelievably better than the 1000. This was with no carb synch, and of course it's with no load either. I expected it to run like crap and have to futz with a while, but it sounded ready to go. I do have issues: the typical anti freeze leaks around the hoses and clamps which aren't new, but the worst was and is an oil leak under the left cyl. head. Someone else had the same problem here around a year ago. I forgot who, but remember reading it. It looks like a stress crack where the the little seventh bolt goes through the head under the oil return galley. I can' figure what would have caused that. It looks like it is coming around the bolt, not through the head or galley. I am going to try a crush washer on it, but I'll probably be pulling the head unless someone has a better idea. My first video attempt, apologies in advance.
