I know a lot has been talked about when it comes to ABS glue and repairing cracks and replacing posts on side panels. I'm still working on my GL1500 and sidecar. It sat for 9 years and some of the plastic I find has small cracks, missing tabs or broke and missing posts. The cracks and post repairs are fairly simple as has been discussed here on the forum. But with other plastic pieces like small latches and tabs that are gone leave me 2 options. Either repair or replace it. This morning I found a broken and of course missing latch on a rear side pocket door. So figuring it's a small door I jumped on Ebay to find a replacement. Average cost $40.00 !! I don't think so! Guess it's repair time.

I have an extra side panel from a GL1200 that is my plastic donor. I've already used the posts and cut some pieces for small repairs on the 1500. I paid $13.00 for it and figure it's saved me well over $75.00 so far.

Using a hack saw and metal file ABS plastic is really easy to work with. Having a scrap piece is a good idea when you're rebuilding an old wing.

A half hours work and saved myself $40 bucks and I'm a little closer to finishing the project.
