For those who struggle putting a bike on the center stand

My 1100 is a pita. I have to ride it up on a 2x4, then put it on the center stand. My 1500, on the other hand, practically jumps on the center stand by itself....almost like a scooter easy. The geometry of the stands on the two bikes is obviously different.
 
I often find that the Honda foot-hold prior to the mid-eighties has a rather painful knob on it that isn't really user friendly, and on a Honda, of all things. I am thinking of welding a flatter & wider foot pedal on my GL1100 that resembles some other bikes I have owned.

Sounds like lowered or sagged rear suspension! :whistling:
