I just got a seat that I bought from E-Bay, when I open the box to check the seat, I notice the brackets under the seat where different. The seat is supposed to fit a GL1000, how many models are there, will this seat fit a GL 1979 any body know for which model this seat is for?

Not an 1100, from what I see. Don't know what the 1000 looks like....

I thought 750, too, but then I remembered my '76 750A seat was hinged on one side(tool storage underneath), and had a lock.

That seat is not correct for any year of Honda GoldWing.

Many folks offering seats for sale on eBay are misinformed and pass their lack of knowledge along to buyers. Unfortunately, you didn't know what you were buying and paid for their mistake. That's unfortunate. Depending on how this seat was listed and described, you could contact the seller and ask for a refund. However, if they stated 'no refunds', you're stuck with a seat. If this is the case, your best bet would be to pretty it up and post it on eBay. Simply state that you're unsure of the model year. Anyone looking for that particular seat will know what it is. For your information, below is a photo of a factory '78/'79 GoldWing seat. On the rear, the word 'Honda' is in gold. Here's one currently for sale on eBay.

That is a honda seat. Try a search with the numbers on the seat pan all I could read was 33108. Some reference to a cb 450.

Hi, the guy selling the seat did say it was for a GL1000 and it does have Honda written in gold on the back. If I'm stuck with the seat, I will make it fit. Thanks for your help.
