Probably a question for Joe.
I know that the early and late 1100s had different drive shaft lengths, the later most likely the longer.

I have a real good 1100 shaft here, but as I don't know what length either of them are, I don't know which shaft I've got!
Could some kind soul help me out? I need one measurement from a known year shaft, say from top to bottom.

I'm not absolutely certain but I'm pretty sure all the 1100 shafts were the same as were all the final drives. Joe has done the research on this though.

The overall length of the shaft and internally splined extension are the same. I'm not sure what year the change took place - probably in '83, due to the swingarm change, but some use a shorter shaft/longer extension, while others use a longer shaft/shorter extension.
