Hello, I'm Robert Griffin. Most people jus call me Robert.I'm glad to find this site since I just got my nephews 82 gl1100 Goldwing that sat up in the barn for a couple of years. So far I have striped it down to put a wiringing harness on and a different gas tank both off fleabay.Slow going since I'm use to working on my Shovelhead.I know you guys can probably give me lots of help and it will be appreciated.I'll post pics of my progress.Still learning about posting too, so I'll be slow to start.I'm an old Army vet with a pacemaker so I don't go long without a break. Thanks for letting me aboard!

Thank you guys...I got to take a break from this wiring, my heads bout to explode!Any good close up pictures of how the wiring goes would be helpful.Don't know where the blue, white, and green wire from, looks like a vacume advance on bottom rear of engine go to.They are all three together cloth covered.Yet to get a manual.

Welcome from North TEXAS DFW area... Salute to your service from a wing nut (USAF) and a wing nut for owning my third wing... have had a 1000, still have an 1100 and now own a 1200... take your time.. and post questions as you may come it across an issue... there are no stupid or foolish questions on these wings.. many that will bring a laugh or two.. but none foolish.. and this is where we all think out of the box.. with (Prof) Joedrum leading the class.. if we don't have an immediate answer we can get your mind thinking about resolutions with thought provoking questions.. remember with a Honda it is the kiss principle.. keep it simple.. and if ya gotta force.. back up and rethink.. do not continue with the Jireen heavy handed torqueing... lol

The Normal color of dark green on a Honda is for the ground circuit.. been that way on all my hondas over the years .... unless some one has redone the wires... in a group of 3 the green one (dark) will be ground.. earth.. return to negative.. power (hot) is different for every circuit and that is where you need the color schematic.. so you can view it by wire and color orange and light blue are the turn signal, blinkers, winkers power.. one left the other is right... the orange with white and the light blue with white are the running lights match the orange and lt blue sides above. these are the ones I know off the top of my head right now.. and have held true on a 360T, gl100, V45 a vf 700, a cb750, and my 1100 and 1200

A hearty welcome from another vet Robert. Yes wiring is a pain. Be sure all connectors are clean and tight. Liberal use of dielectric grease will prevent or postpone future troubles.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome.Looks like I need to take the swing arm off and check out the vacume advance and pulse generators got those wires just hanging out of it.Done some reading on it and got it down this far so better do it before I put the rear wheel and shocks and tank back on. I've rebuilt the swingarm on my Harley so this should be familiar. Thank guys.
