You may have heard on the news about a southern California man put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had (by rough estimate) 1-million rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel.

My favorite quote from the dimwit television reporter: "Wow! He has about a million machine gun bullets." The headline referred to it as a "massive weapons cache".
By southern California standards someone even owning 100,000 rounds would be called "mentally unstable. Just imagine if he lived elsewhere:
In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector".
In Arkansas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector".
In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared", but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.
In Idaho, he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy".
In Wyoming, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor".
In Minnesota, he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate".

And, in Texas, he'd be called " a deer hunting buddy".

My supply isn't anywhere near that but it is growing. I would like more info on the escape tunnel though. Sounds like a great project.

hey wait just a cotton pickin minute here, doesn't Dan live in southern Calif.... :smilie_happy:

I'm scared to walk down the street here in The Peoples Republic Of California.

PS: The Peoples Republic also owns the Pacific Ocean. (FYI)

As always...."follow the money".

LULZ, my favorite comment under that article was "It was a crime that they tried to take care of themselves."

there is nothing more disgusting than a gov thats wants to disarm people and make the world more dangerous to their family ....while the gov slaughters people all over world in make beleive conflicts over humanitarian lies ....when really its all about stealing other countries resources and how they conduct their economy outside the moneychanger terrorist of the federal reserve .....i would not want to be unarmed living where the gov constantly lies to the people it is supposed to represent........go ron paul the only decent person in gov today

Gee the golden state got tarnished years ago.. (native born so. cal)... they restricted places to hunt before I could buy my license... then they let the sierra club run rough shod.. but I digress... I would be contacting some 2nd amendment group to do something for me on this.... I am working on my collection.. and one day may live again in AZ and open carry..

I wished I had kept my previous firearms (Uzi, Colt .45 Commanding Officer's model), to add to my current ones (Bersa .380, Mossberg 500SPX). I drove out to CA from VA over the summer, and had my Mossy with me on the trip, but flew back. I checked my Mossy at LAX, properly locked in a case with the breech open (to show it wasn't loaded), and you should've seen the expression of the person working the check-in counter, lol! She said for me to wait there, and returned with a TSA rep. I don't think she really knew what to do either, so she took the case and said they're going to run it thru the xray machine, and for me to wait there at the counter. She returns about 10 minutes later, and said everything was fine, and I was free to go thru screening. Wonder if they noticed the small canvas bag in my checked luggage, that had about 200 rounds of 00 buck and 1 oz slugs? That was legal, and I didn't have to declare them, but I'm just wondering!

Here's a link to what the counter person and TSA person saw in my case:

It's a really nice shotgun, great sights, and the adjustable stock and pistol grip helps with a variety of shooters. I'll have to take a more experienced competitive shooter's advice, and NOT use 00 rounds for target practice! Last time I fired it, I was done after 20 rounds, because my shoulder was getting "tender", lol!

Have gun will try and travel is the reality today ...nice shotgun ....ghost ring sights are great .....yes if the army was shooting shotguns they would save in ammo cost ....shoulder problems might increase....

Here's the only firearm I have....it was my Dad's, and I can remember him having it ever since I was prolly 4-5 years old. I borrowed it to go skeet shooting once, and after about a year, he told me to just keep it.....
