Hard to start

To me it’s a sign of getting to hot ...and it’s running temperature needs to come down some

Starter is getting heat-soaked. Armature is probably going bad, it happens eventually to all starters, bikes and cars.

Hmmm Yes I’m sure that could play huge part and may be the biggest part

I remember in high school a friend with a headers on his Camero had to wrap his starter in asbestos... not that I'd recommend that today.
