No! A Harrier is a VTOL - Vertical Take Off and Landing aircraft. There are buckets (if you will) that direct the engine thrust downward to facilitate taking off and landing straight up and down when required.

Loudest damn thing you will ever be around is one of those coming in for a Vertical landing, and then the pilot shuts the motor down and then all quite: amazing!
