Hi,
I have an 83 Aspy with a Clarion II. So with no use for the cassette deck and no place to plug in a MP3 I removed the deck and replaced it with an ISimple IS75. This unit is a universal adapter. It plugs into the docking socket on the IPod and has positive and negative leads for power and positive and negative speaker leads. I added a toggle to turn on the feed to the amplifier. It works great, except that there is a loss of volume. Given that the cassette deck had a volume control I'm guessing that the old deck could feed more power to the amp and that the fixed feed from the adapter just doesn't push hard enough to get the volume up. I've ordered a K100 pre amp. Hopefully it'll get me the volume I want and not fry the system.
It'll let you know how it turns out.
