Salutations!

I am acquiring a 75 GL1000 that is in great mechanical shape. What it does need is front turnsignals and a tail light/brake light. (front and rear blinkers/running lights)

I've studied the wiring diagram and see where the wires should go, but has anyone done this before including mounting the lights? The original ears are on the front, but as you can see from the picture below, the previous owner cafe'd the fender and seat, which i think is a great look for the wing, but nothing is mounted so I need to drill/mount all the lights on the fender. Any recommendations on light cluster types/can I run LEDs? - I know I need to install a converter, anyone help me on that? where to stash it, where it wires in, etc.?

I would like as many of the lights to act as running lights as possible. I need to do this so I can get this sled on the road, any advice? Pics of the subject are below.

Thanks in advance!

looks goood to me ...stock front signals if you dont have them are somewhat exspensive ....and yes on my 77 i like too have the rear signals to be running lights also ...witch make a good light up in the back ...if your looking for something like that you can find after market for like the front and use then in the rear too .....leds i dont know i dont have them ...and requires different trun signal relay ...but your realy close .....onre thing for sur the reserve lighting unit might have to be bypassed on the 75 for the lights to work ...its not that hard and several threads here somewhere even mine on it ....but you need lights first to get started ...

LED lights can be used without an adapter other than an electronic flasher unit. Pick out your lights and mount them. If you have any issues I'm sure some here can help. Get the side wings for the radiator too. You'll be wanting those.

i have 2 parts bikes on a 78 and one is a 75 or 77 i will check and see what i have that would be of use to u. let me know if u r interested and i'll let u know if i have it.

i got a buncha light sets including amber led stick on strips, they are ultracheap and come in so many varieties on ebay that your head spins :laptop:

search ebay with 'motorcycle turn signals'

i'd hafta check but pretty sure i paid ~ 5 bucks for a set of 4 that need a bolt hole to mount

you can get led license plate holder, park, brake light, turn signal units for ~ 20 bucks

i used electrical tape to mount some quick, duct tape also works, these are nifty
