I have been searching but so far have not found out how to adjust my rear air shocks so i can hold more. I am afraid to take anyone on a ride because last time i tried....got about 30 yards from the house, and since my back break lights are under the fender, we hit a very....very small bump, and a nasty sound came off...got off the bike and my brake lights were bent all the way under.

how do i adjust them to make sure they are at the max if needed?

most likely by putting in progressive springs ...not much adjusting ...and your 83 is the bast 1100 setup on springs ...the air must be shot on it ...you did try to air it uo yes

That right there is exactly what i was wanting to know. I didnt know where it was at. it says im at 31psi.
