I'm just a little overwhelmed at the volume of information available on this forum. Seriously, I've spent a good deal of time pouring through the information available here and I feel pretty good about my purchase knowing you guys got my back!

I've decided I'm going to try and get into contact with the previous owner to see what has and hasn't been done. While I feel confident in my abilities and confident in the information available on this site, I don't want to tear the bike all apart right away if I don't have to. I hear what you all are saying about the timing belts, though and don't want to pile on a lot of miles before I know for sure....

Many thanks to all that have welcomed me aboard and many thanks to all the guys that contributed so much information for all of us to use. I continue to pour through it and have learned so much already. I hope to become a regular contributor as my experience grows and I get more familiar with the bike.

I love this place already!

I know how ya feel! I get the same feelin every time I log in!

That was my initial attraction to the sight. My radio wouldn't change stations, and I found out that it was caused by one of the buttons had stuck and found out how to fix it and even was able to look at pictures of what the control head looked like when disassembled. Awsome sight!

I don't even have the bike home yet and learned how to fix one thing I know is wrong. Mine has the toggle switch to manually control the cooling fan and I learned here how to fix the sensor. Guess what's the first thing I will do it???

I know I have to address the timing belts, though. I'm hoping I don't have to tackle it right away as money is now short after Christmas and I want to ride! I'll do what I have to do, though.

Check inside the belt covers. Some are smart enough to write down the date and mileage when the belts are changed.

Good thought on that... I went to the shop where I bought the bike today and asked them to contact the previous owner and see if he'd mind me picking his brain a little. They said they would, so we'll see if he calls. If he's like the typical wing owners I've come across (you guys included), I expect to hear from him soon.
