riding to joe's for the m&g with slabghost and jpwinger was great especally watching slabghost on his kz 750. he inspired me to get the 750f up and running, thanks slabghost and now i'm having a blast on my 750f. only 60 miles but it was big fun

I had a CB750 it was a great bike but too small - size really does matter..!!!

its at my place now dan :hihihi:
Oh yeah that's right.
Please don't let my bike get rained and snowed on :beg:

Glad you enjoyed the ride and watching my antics. The 750's are really nice bikes for just having fun.

Yeah... and looking at your 's and Piper's 1500s has me inspired too, but not a GoldWing...
to tell the truth my 1500 was not my first choice. i wanted a 1500 but not the color that i have but i got a $1500 discount on it to sway me :)

By myself, I much prefer to ride the 1100, but for two up, which is most of the time, you just can't beat the 1500. Ask Dan, he rode the 1500 much of the way down to Joe's and back.

Well I'm glad you asked (or did you?).

There's something I like more about riding the 1100.
Not sure what it is.
Familiarity?
Seat or bars position?
Character?

The 1100 to me is sort of the underdog in the GL lineup. Sounds weird but that's how I see it and I've always routed for the underdog.

The 1500, more power absolutely but one thing that really bugged me was the acceleration growl.
That to me is a deal breaker.
The handling, though superb somehow feels "off" to me. I think due largely to the bar positioning and I felt more cramped leg wise because of the wider fairing though a seat mod could help there.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fine bike but it would need some tweaks for me to truly enjoy it.

Dan those are all reasons I have heard before, and why I prefer the 1100 GW, but ... you take the reliability and power of a 1500 and mix it with the ease of maintenance of an 1100, and now you have their best of both worlds.

Hmmmmm.....will there be a 1500 engined 1100 framed bike in Joe's future?

i'm sure that pipers 1500 was not set up for you so i know it wasn't as comfortable as it could have been. when i first got my 1500 wing it was parked more than it was ridden cause i was much more comfortable with my 1200 wing . after getting another seat ( the stock seat had most of the foam removed ) and just riding it

I have to agree with William on this one. My bike is really only setup for me! Other have taken her for a ride, like the power and smoothness, but complain about seat position and handlebars. I have set back risers on my handlebars and I have everything set for my size and reach (add tennis elbow and carpal tunnel in the right arm and wrist). My setup allows me to ride for days!! (Ask Brian....we could have gone across the country given enough money and time off!)
