Thanks to all for your input. It took me longer than I thought but got it all done late afternoon today. Just enough to put on a few miles trying it all out. It doesn't sound or run any different, but that's a good thing :yahoo: . This was done for preventive maintenance, not because it had issues. Weather was in the 70's! Wish the job was done last week so I could take advantage of the nice weekend. Well, I'll see what next weekend brings. Still have a "tick" which I thought a valve adjust may take care of but didn't. Not a serious concern. I do feel more secure in the fact that my good deal on the bike is not going to turn bad due to a belt breaking! The Clarion 1 radio works good, looks good. A couple small issues but it's 30 years old. I'm happy with it. Next...tires.
:salute:

Preventive maintenance is good... It is just when it has to be on the F350..Plymouth voyger ....B-350 ..KLR-650..TT-600..YFM-350...2 GL-1100s...TL-250.. XX -305..and...*(%$#@<&%$@*^&$#@) Which at this time is no longer preventive... at least i still think about it Now i just concentrate on the wings and what ever the wife and i have to drive. I guess it is gitting close to time for a garage sale.. :fiddle: :fiddle: :salute: :read: :read: :read: :heat:

On the 3 day weekend coming up, I'm planning on another timing belt job on another Honda. This time it's my Civic. Belt, water pump and tensioner. I'm not looking forward to it but it will sure save me $$$$$. Maybe I'll ride the bike up your way instead. That's one way to get out of work. Are Early Birds welcome at your garage sale? Like a couple months early? I can even take a few of the darn bikes away to give you a bit more working room in the garage. I wont even charge you :smilie_happy:

Nice riding country in Limestone? I'm in Stockton. Heard today it's #1 on the Misery Index in the USA. I don't agree but am glad Yosemite National Park makes for an easy day trip. I'm looking forward to my first ride there on a bike. Have ya been there?
:music: :music2:

I have to do some carb work on the runner but could be pursuadad to ride instead.....NO wait hane to go to a class 10 to 12 Sat and 9 to noon on Sun...How did i let that happen????? I have a ticking sound coming from my bike too, changed belts and checked values but still hearing a ticking sound. Iam thinking its spark jumping from plug wires, I just got a set today and going to put then in this weekend if it thanks care of the ticking ill let you now.

I changed my plug wires and that took care of the ticking nosie. Get a spray bottle with water in it and spray your wires and the one that is jumping fire will start to miss then you will have found it, It worked for me

I'm gonna have to take a closer look (or listen) to mine. I didn't think it would have been the plug wires because I didn't have any running issues but just yesterday there were some issues.
Good find and thanks for the update! I'll take a closer look.
:thanks:
