laws and regulations for bikes???

does any one know where i can find local laws and regulations on what a bike can or can not have. i know some places prohibit things even such as novelty mirrors.

Here in Ca highway patrol is real sticky about colored lights and the direction they face.
Nothing blue, no forward facing red lights.
I suppose no rearward facing white lights either, mostly common sense stuff.
I don't really know of any other restriction.

You can usually download any of your state's vehicle laws/regulations from the state's website.

Not sure about Idaho, but PA has a webpage for the PA Codes that covers all laws and regulations that govern traffic and vehicle requirements. This looks like the rright place to start:
