I had excellent results on my last V Max dropping the tail about an inch and a half. It responded very well to increased rake. Pretty much eliminated a nasty head shake.

I just got off the road with my Old Wing, wifey and I took the bike out on a 900 mile or so round trip stopped at some hotels and took in some sights, but the most notable stuff to me was how the bike responded better with her on the back at higher speeds than than just me alone on there (ie. could do 100mph and no head shaking). Second notable thing was under hard turning at speed, I could feel the frame giving, only noticeable after riding the blackbird for the last few months.

I knew these things about the steel birdhouse frames encasing the motor, it is what it is. Also if the heat shield is removed from behind the radiator, well just know it is part of the frame reinforcement.
