Nice cable, and it installed easily. The only minor complaint I have is the secondary cable cover meant to protect the cable runs almost the length of the cable. This prevented me from tucking it between the gas tank and the helmet lock on the way to the clutch mechanism.

That old cable was really tight  No wonder I was having trouble downshifting.

I've only had one experience with a Motion Pro clutch cable, but it will be my only experience. Ever. Granted, I'm probably some anomaly and 99.99% of them are great, but I received that ONE cable.

I just installed it and was out for the first ride. Everything was seated and adjusted as it should have been. As I was sitting at in intersection, my bike started creeping forward uncontrollably - I couldn't stop it! Thankfully, the light then changed and I was able to just drive away. When i got home, I found that my clutch cable was REALLY slack. I tried to take up the slack with both adjustments, but even with everything adjusted to the mas there was way too much slack left to be functional. It felt like the cable stretched during the first ride, so I was out of commission until my new genuine Honda cable arrived.

I use many many MP products and they've all been fine. This is the one negative experience I have with them, but I will never again buy a non OEM clutch cable. Sorry for the long reply. That's what happens when I have a beer!

That's weird, cmonSTART,

I put on a Motion pro clutch cable not to long ago on my 83', it seems like the cable adjustment is at the end of it's adjustment.

I may have to get a OEM cable, as I am just about, out of adjustment.

I've had to adjust this cable once since I posted this thread. It was a slight stretch that didn't hinder shifting, it just gave the lever a little slop. Since I was expecting this I'm still happy with cable.

Years ago I found that tha sheath collapses rather than the cable streaching. had several cables made to order for my race biked with an extra adjustment in the middle or somewhere belot rhe clutch adjustment. At the time they were cheaper than OEM and made out of aircraft materials (I had a friend who worked at the AFB with em) :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: He retired when I did and they closed the base. :sensored: :whistling:  :ahem:
