I got a set of Honda saddlebags with my naked '82 which I never fitted. Now I am thinking I might be able to restore them and put them on. :Egyptian:
Here is one of the bags

My problem is fitting the mounting brackets. Looks like the top 2 bracket holes got to the shock bolt and the fender bolt. I have the bracket on the outside of the grab bar but should it be on the inside? (closer to the bike) :headscratch:

The lower bracket hole seems of the line up with the passenger foot peg...is that right? :headscratch:

Thanks for any help
Brian

Are those Hondaline bags? They look aftermarket to me because those mounts do not look like the set that I got when I put a set on my Standard. Also they have a hinge where the Interstate bags I got do not have hinges.

However, that bracket appears that it could go either inside or outside the grab-bar. Does it fit inside at teh shock?

id say its right now if it goes on the inside it barely dose ...ne nice if you wanted to go without bags its just bracket peg and bag involved.. maybe just make it the way you want it :builder: :builder: :hihihi:

Nice lookin' bags! Can't say for sure about the mounting, as those are not OEM '82 Hondaline bags or brackets. If things line up, go for it. OEM brackets mount at the upper shock stud, the fender/grab rail bolt, and the passenger footpeg bolt.

I'm pretty sure they are Honda saddlebags. If you zoom in on the side reflector it says "HONDA" on it. But maybe they are not GW.

They are rather small

The reason I was questioning if the brackets should go inside of the grab rail is because they seem to stick out quite a bit.

They are Honda bags for sure...

Well there you go...mystery solved. I don't mind the small size because I just want something to carry stuff for errands or to go to work.

So looks like mounting is whatever I can come up with.

If I can get the mounting sorted and refinish them I want to mount them permanently so the turn signals will be on the back of each saddlebag.

Thanks
Brian

I do like the look but I've gotten used to the convenience of my big Vetter bags. Lots of room in them.
