New computer woes

I have a couple of nagging questions for any & all of the great 'puter gurus here abouts. Please read whole post so as not to miss a word. :beg: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: I have just bought a new laptop. It is an Asus X75A with Windows 8 (upgraded to 8.1), DDR3 1600/1333 MHz SDRAM, On Board Memory 6 GB , 1 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 GB SDRAM, Intel® Core™ i5 3210M Processor @2.5 GHz. has Bluetooth, wireless HDMI, 2x 3.0 usb + 1 2.0 usb, SD card reader & Blueray / CD reader/writer. I am very happy for the most part but not to happy with the APPs
First question:- Is it possible to set this up (if so how) so that there is no stare, & login page. I am used to turning my 'puter off @ night but hate having to sign in every time. ( I don't even do this on my phone) Also I have the latest editions of the programs IE, Adobe reader etc.
second, I have been trying find websites to download music but all of them want me to download some sort of toolbar & also say that I need to upgrade flash player but when I click on upgrade Flash player it comes back & says that I already have the latest edition. I want nothing to do with Apple & it is a must that I can find places that I have to pay for the music! I am a retired drummer & won't download freebies. My other problem is that I have no credit cards(& don't want any) but it is difficult to find anyplace (other than eBay)that uses PayPal. I have found a fabulous site in Britain (https://www.notnowmusic.com/label/one-day-music.html) but there again they do not use PP so I have to find an album then do a search on eBay & hope someone has it. Thanks for putting up with this old broads long winded query. It is the first ? that I am the most interested in. The rest will probably sort itself out. Oh I should tell you by doing this if someone ever got hold of your computer they'd have easy access to your stuff on it.

There is nothing on my 'puter that I can't share with the world. Just a few hundred pictures of family & bikes & forum M&G's Now to check out you other suggestion. Thanks. :music2:

Thanks so much Dan. That did the trick & with Slabghost's help may have other question solved as well. Not doing to badly other than the constant pain. Going in to hospital on the 18th for day surg on a polyp that is non-cancerous. After the new year I am going to try & fin someone that has a trike or cruiser for sale that wants to carry the loan themselves for an additional monthly income. I know it is rare but one never knows. But in the mean time I have my forums to keep me company & if all goes well by the time the weather gets nicer, I hope to have my enhanced license so I will be able to cross the line & get down & meet some of the western forum members. (That is the 5 major forums that I am with.) I have run the I-5 corridor a hundred or so times but would love to do the PCH I-101. Anyway my dear thanks again. A Visa debit card is the only way I go shopping online. They aren't tied to your credit(or lack of), one loads the money on the card then it's ready to use. I prefer this method because if the card gets compromised the thief can't run up debt, they can only use whats loaded on the card.
