Old Ben here posting from Oceanside, Ca. Got the bug to ride to Branson, Mo. in September for a reunion with the guys I served in Viet Nam in "66". Haven't ridden in a while so I found
an "83" Interstate with 38K on the clock. The first day I rode home with my new toy I smelled gas, found out it was one of the O rings in the No. 3 carb. That was the beginning of
many nights on line learning about Goldwings. I have to say that I have really enjoyed rebuilding the carbs and will install them soon. I still have a lot to do to get ready so I'll keep
it short and sweet.

Welcome to the Forum OldBen, you will find a lot of info on our bikes here. If you don't have a service manual, get one. It will come in handy.
I also wanted to thank you for your service!!! My wife and I are veterans, me, Navy her Army. She is disabled 100% and I am her Caregiver. We don't ride like we used to, but we are working on it!! Welcome and have fun!!! :thanks:

I was stationed at Ft. Ord in 1971, Didn't Make it to Nam but can't say I Regret that. I Was in Korea while Vietnam was still on, I was in the 2nd Infantry Div. 1/72nd Armor, and we were placed on standby while I was there to go to Nam, but it never Happened.

Had a tour in Germany too! total of 10 Yrs. in the Army. My wifes Dad spent 2 Tours in Nam, it is great to kow you made it thru that war' and glad to see ya Riding again. :clapping:
 
Thanks for the welcome. Have been really busy getting ready for the trip east but when I get a chance I'll post some pictures of my scooter.
