Im a noob too. Welcome. Sweet looking Wing you got there. Props to your painter. Mine knocks a little with 38k mi, yours? Most evident at about 4k rmp no load on freeway. And has a moderate bog when wide open at lower rpms. Doing a recheck on my valve adustment and some fresh oil. Last oil only 200 miles ago has some cleaner in it, maybe thinning it out a bit and causing a few rattles. Then a super carb rebuild using the CGW tutorial. Hello tomdgrimes, Thanks for the compliments, my bike only has 26,000 mi on it, quiet as a mouse. When you change oil, see if your knock goes away. Also, when you rebuild your carbs, check to see if you slides are scuffed. On some bikes, there is a rough edge in the carb bore that can cause the slides to hang, could cause a bog. I bet this forum has a topic on that, if not go to Randakk's site.

I got the oil changed with rotella dino 15/40 and snugged up the valve adjustment. It made all the difference. Actually less miss, smoother and quieter. Still have a bog that i hope to clear up with a thorough car rebuild. Thanks!
