Hello all

my name is Gary in WVa about 3 months ago I bought a 1988 GL1500 she has about 80000 miles on her
I just put the e-trike kit on her.....new plugs ...windshield...led lights...brakes....Not knowing her history for the last 40000 miles
and she is running a little rough... I am going to get the timing belts and tensioners replaced.....and valve clearances checked. I put some Sea Foam in the gas and it seemed to help her some... So hopefully we can get her on the road soon....
I have to get my MC learners permit and I am taking the MC safety course to get my MC endorsement.

ride safe and thank a veteran for the freedom to do so.....

Greetings from the Sunshine State.

Live long and prosper. God bless you.

Welcome to the forum, The 1500 has some vacuum lines that can leak/crack so be sure and check them out too..and whatever diaphragms the vacuum lines operate as well.

hello gary, welcome to CGW. 1500 wings have hyd lifters so there is nothing to check

Thank you and all the others for their words and welcome
good thing to know about lifters.....well this evening I was putting around my yard and driveway
and the idle jumped up but engine sounded different...I lowered idle back down to about 750 rpm
and engine was totally better and pulling off was no problem...
maybe Sea Foam broke something loose bike runs much better we are still getting timing belts and tensioners replaced
this forum is a wealth of info and priceless too...
