My name is Mike.
Just happened to find this website, and thought what luck.
I have a 1976 GL 1000 Limited Edition with about 75000 klms (5000 of which are mine). :music: :salute:
Runs great,. (But needs a rear fender, Original Seat, and original mufflers. ((some bonehead put Harley mufflers on it :crying:

Also recently (for a crazy low price of $1200) I picked up a 1981 GL1100 Minty condition,( some minor rusting on surfaces...nothing a can of Rub-all can't cure.) with 1629 klms (That's right!!!! one thousand-six hundred-twenty-nine kilometers).
I remember feeling all warm and fuzzy at the time. :salute:
Everything is tight except for (of course) Fork Seals.
(Bike was in heated garage for 31 years.)

Never had a GL before, ... Lots of CB 750's, a 79 KZ 1300 (all the goodies)nice ride))
Plus misc. 650's, 1100's yammies
Couple of triumph's
a BSA
And it all started with a an old 52 benelli 2 stroke(found in a farmers garage when I was 11). :music:

Welcome from North TEXAS DFW area.... the key w word here is original mufflers....Honda does not support these older bikes...so getting pristine originals is extremely difficult.... the Hardley muffler setup is common because most of their owners swap them out for louder pipes...making the take offs cheap and ez to find..don't fault the po who did that ... he was keeping the bike on the road
