HI Ya'll

Ima newby to this site but have been fiddlin with at least a half dozen pre 85 goldwings for the last few years.

Along with my current ride, 81 custom, I am working on a almost-frame-up-restoration on a 77 bagger.

Also I am working on a friends 82 full dress which includes ring of fire.

This is one of the hardest bikes to work on because I needed to replace shocks and rear wheel bearings, so I thought it would be easier if I removed the complete bag set off the back.

That was easier said than done, especially when I was ready to put the bag set back on.

Welcome to the CGW Forums, Kwixdraw!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Looks like someone is trying to get their 5 posts in quickly! :hihihi:

Somebody tell me that I did not have to remove that whole rear bagset to change the tire, brakes, and shocks with only the centerstand for a lift. Then tell me how? Please?

Last Post! Thank you all for you patience.

I also am planning to replace the fork seals without removing the fairing.

Is there a shop manual from Honda that includes instructions for early (80 - 83) models with fairings?

None of my other GW's had fairings so I am ignorant about working around them.

Welcome Kwixdraw, you will fit right in here - lots of us have half a dozen of these bikes.
