new to CGW from Houston

Greetings all, I've got a 76 gl and ride her daily. She was in a sad state of affairs when I found her stored in a garage. Along with all the normal things needing attention(carbs,cables, battery, everything on the brakes, dry rotted tires,etc.etc.) it looked like the P.O. hired a crew of second graders to spray paint it. Upgrades include, Mac slash cut exhaust, k&n breather(had to jet carbs up to 147/68). 7v regulator went out and I had to solder one up using a 7805 +5vdc voltage regulator chip and a 5mm green led from radio shack(1000 miles on it so far and it still checks out at exactly 7v. Has anyone here installed 81 comstars on a 76? The front looks like an easy swap, was wondering if anything special was needed to swap the rear.
