I am trying to find a diagram that shows how the oil pump is located in relationship to the motor. I am having some motor issues and a diagram would help out tremendously. Thanks.

Here's a reference from the 1100 shop manual in the gallery. You can check and repair part of the main oil pump by removing the front trans cover without pulling the engine. The back side of the main pump repair requires removal of engine as well as repair and replacement of the scavenger oil pump.gallery/image_page.php?album_id=1153&image_id=11584 what kind of issues are you having to deal with.

I'm not 100% but I seem to remember when I had mine open that the main oil pump won't come out from the front right off. Something about a keeper of sorts that has to be removed from the pump drive to let it come forward.
Steve83 has his opened up.
If you read this Steve.......

First of all, what problems are you having? There are several threads on oil pressure issues, and I did one on the entire system - https://classicgoldwings.com/forum/cgwindex.php#engine - that might help.

The main pump can be removed from the front of the engine after removing the front cover. You'll probably need an impact driver to get the 3 philips screws that secure the pump cover removed. Once the pump cover is off, pull out the inner and outer rotors. Notice the dot on the outer rotor - it must be facing the same direction when you re-install it.

After the rotors are out, remove the drive pin from the shaft. It's a loose fit, so tweezers will work. DON'T SCRATCH THE INSIDE OF THE PUMP BODY!!!

Now you can remove the 10mm bolts securing the pump body in the case. If you're lucky, the gasket won't tear...

Let us know what you find...
